Last month saw my first feature in Outside magazine: Meet the TikTokers Upending Outdoor Influencer Culture.

And this week saw my first appearance on cable television via The List TV: How TikTokers are Showing Mother Nature in a Whole New Light.

My segment for The List TV aired on the local news in 25 states, spurring a flurry of texts and DMs from estranged friends in Texas, old work colleagues in California, my ex-boyfriend’s mother in Florida, and many others I hadn’t spoken to in years.

The new attention from TikTok is surreal. Even with 50,000+ monthly visitors to this blog, I’d never been recognized in public — and now that’s happened 10 times in the last month.

I’m still awkward with compliments, but I love meeting people IRL. If you see me out and about, please say hi!
