It’s still sink-ing in (😉) that last month, I BOUGHT. A. HOUSE! This sink? Mine. This kitchen? Mine.
This entire 1906 farmhouse framed by cottonwood trees with a partial mountain view?! Mine! 😮
But after years of making outdoor adventures such a huge part of my life and identity, I worried that “settling down” was actually…settling. Would I still go on outdoor adventures after becoming a homeowner, or would I just be a boring indoor house-person?!
Thankfully, I needn’t have worried — I’m still spending as much time outside as possible, exploring the natural wonders of our world. Since buying Basecamp Becky, I’ve hiked to a gorgeous hot spring in the Jemez Mountains, done several gorgeous sunset hikes in the Sandias, biked many miles along the Rio Grande, and spent lots of time planning future outdoor adventures, like Chaco Canyon this weekend and a 210-mile walk across Scotland in May.
Basecamp Becky actually makes those adventures easier by giving me a clean, cozy place to rest, recharge, and relive my outdoor adventures between trips.
For an outdoor-loving granola girl dirtbag like me, the “clean” part is key — and that’s where method comes in. I’ve been buying method products at Target for years now, so I was *pumped* (ha) when they reached out about their gorgeous new limited edition collection with Fifty-Nine Parks.
The collection includes five yummy new scents in gel and foaming hand wash, each inspired by one of the parks. If you’ve seen my Basecamp Becky park-themed decor on Instagram, which includes several pieces of art from Fifty-Nine Parks, you know this partnership is right up my alley!
Now, when I wash the red dirt from under my fingernails after an epic desert trip, it smells like I’m right back in the Grand Canyon — or Mount Rainier, or Acadia, or Sequoia. There’s even a scent inspired by Dry Tortugas, which is the only park of the five I haven’t been to. (And if it smells half as good as the soap, I gotta go!)
I first gravitated towards method products because they’re made without parabens or phthalates, and because they smell absolutely fantastic. The brand new scents in the method x Fifty-Nine parks collection are no exception!
My favorite is the alpine meadow scent, only available at Target, which brings to mind sunny afternoons in the Mount Rainier backcountry with hills of colorful wildflowers. I love the Fifty-Nine Parks art on this bottle with the sweet bear family!
Best of all, this limited edition collection supports Park Ventures, the National Park Foundation’s new collaborative effort to increase park access & equity. I talk a lot about how the outdoors saved my life, and I love that the Park Ventures is helping more people experience the amazing social, mental, and physical benefits of getting outside.
Even if you don’t think of yourself as “outdoorsy,” you still belong outside. Public lands are my therapy, gym, church, and social life all in one: my only regret is not appreciating them sooner! There’s a wild, wonderful world out there, just waiting for you to explore. 💚
Look for the method x Fifty-Nine Parks collection at your local Target, Grove Collaborative, and at methodproducts.com! I love using them at all three sinks in Basecamp Becky as I clean up after a muddy hike with Juno and daydream about our next adventure.
Thanks for reading and have a great hike,
Becky
